Done,Dead.

‘Done, Dead.’ is an open-world environment project created by a myself and a college roommate. With this personal project , we aimed to learn Unreal Engine while fine tuning our 3D modeling skills. One thing that was important to us with this project is that everything was created by us, we wanted to experience the full process of creating an environment in Unreal Engine. All of the 3D assets, textures, UE blueprints and the map layout itself were created from scratch.  

One of my parts of this project I’m most proud of were my map diagrams and layouts. Being an architecture student, I had some experience with this type of work but this project was an opportunity to have fun with it. We had the initial layout of the island, then form there I approached it like any other studio project, beginning with laying out the zones we wanted, then I gradually adding more detail until we had a final design. 

This project is incomplete and something we hope to continue with in our free time in the future. If we do find the time, the end goal of this project is to produce a game concept we have, but being a hobby-project, only time will tell if we achieve that.
